This Week's Dinner Plans: 9/14 to 9/20/15

Each week I peek in my fridge, freezer, and garden, to see what needs to be used up and I take a couple of minutes to think of ways to use up those ingredients in the next few days...

I didn't feel like putting an elaborate dinner plan together this week so I went with simple (simplistic?) dishes :)  Also, we haven't had salad in a while so I'm adding a lot of salads to our meals this week!

MONDAY: Tuna Patties and Salad
  • From the freezer: nothing
  • From the pantry: cans of tuna, bread crumbs, vegetable oil
  • From the fridge: monterey jack cheese, eggs, lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumber slices, avocado, sunflower kernels
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance: homemade vinaigrette
  • Need to buy: nothing

TUESDAY: Skillet Mushroom Stroganoff, Salad and rolls
  • From the freezer: Beef tips steaks
  • From the pantry: pouch of Creamy Portabella Mushroom Recipe Starters, pasta, pepitas, parmesan cheese
  • From the fridge: Light sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, homemade vinaigrette, butter
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance: bake the Heat & Brown rolls with parmesan and pepitas and defrost pork loin roast for tomorrow
  • Need to buy: nothing

WEDNESDAY: Slow Cooker Brown Sugar Balsamic Glaze Pork Loin and Roasted Yukon Gold Potatoes and Baby Carrots
  • From the freezer: pork loin roast
  • From the pantry: Yukon Gold potatoes, EVOO, salt & pepper, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, ground sage, corn starch, soy sauce
  • From the fridge: baby carrots, minced garlic
  • Need to harvest: rosemary
  • Need to make in advance: pre-heat oven!
  • Need to buy: nothing

THURSDAY: Jalapeño Cheeseburger Macaroni and Salad
  • From the freezer: ground beef
  • From the pantry: box of Jalapeño Cheeseburger Macaroni Hamburger Helper, croutons
  • From the fridge: milk, lettuce, homemade dressing
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance:  defrost mashed potatoes for tomorrow's rolls (need to halve the recipe though)
  • Need to buy:  nothing

FRIDAY:  Pumpkin Soup with Ham & Cheese Omelets & Potato Rolls
  • From the freezer: Pumpkin puree, couple of packets of Heinz chopped onions, ham
  • From the pantry:  potato, chicken broth, nutmeg, tarragon, sugar, flour, oil, salt
  • From the fridge: butter, chicken broth, milk, eggs, Monterey Jack cheese, yeast, eggs
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance: prep and bake the rolls throughout the day
  • Need to buy: nothing

SATURDAY:  Red Beans and Smoked Sausage with Rice & Corn Bread
  • From the freezer:  bag of pre-cooked Red Beans and Smoked Sausage
  • From the pantry:  rice
  • From the fridge: nothing
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance:  Buttermilk corn bread (or leftovers from last Sunday if I had made some)
  • Need to buy:  nothing

SUNDAY: Cheeseburgers on Pretzel Buns, Sweet Potato Fries, Salad
  • From the freezer: ground beef, Alexia Sweet Potato fries
  • From the pantry: flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, kosher salt
  • From the fridge: cheese slices, yeast, butter, egg, lettuce, tomatoes, cuke, homemade dressing, light mayo, ketchup, homemade pickles
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance:  pretzel buns (need to let the butter soften)
  • Need to buy: nothing
