This Week's Dinner Plans: November 16 to November 22, 2015


Each week I peek in my fridge, freezer, and garden, to see what needs to be used up and I take a couple of minutes to think of ways to use up those ingredients in the next few days...


MONDAY: Ground Chicken Tacos, Rice and Refried Beans
  • From the freezer: ground chicken, refried beans
  • From the pantry: homemade taco seasoning, salt, flour
  • From the fridge: light sour cream, salsa, lettuce and tomatoes harvested from the garden last week, leftover rice from last night, rest of shredded Mexican cheese
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance:  flour tortillas
  • Need to buy: nothing

TUESDAY: Alice Springs Chicken, Pasta and Steamed Asparagus
  • From the freezer: chicken breasts, turkey bacon
  • From the pantry: pasta, mustard, honey
  • From the fridge: asparagus, light mayo, lemon juice, canned mushrooms, butter, Monterey Jack cheese
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance:  nothing
  • Need to buy: nothing

WEDNESDAY: Pizza
  • From the freezer: nothing
  • From the pantry: nothing
  • From the fridge: pepperoni
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance: defrost pork loin for tomorrow
  • Need to buy: XL cheese pizza, pineapple tidbits, ham 

THURSDAY: Slow Cooker Apple Pork Chops with Apple Butter and Potatoes
  • From the freezer: pork loin
  • From the pantry: fajita seasoning, apple butter, Dijon mustard, red potatoes
  • From the fridge: Neufchatel cheese
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance: ** Crockpot Dish**
  • Need to buy: spinach

FRIDAY: Almond Lemon Baked Tilapia and Vegetable Couscous
  • From the freezer: tilapia fillets, lemon zest
  • From the pantry: Dijon mustard, EVOO, pepper, couscous, chicken soup base (to cook the couscous)
  • From the fridge: sliced almonds, whatever vegetables I need to use up
  • Need to harvest: parsley
  • Need to make in advance: nothing
  • Need to buy: nothing

SATURDAY:  Butternut Squash Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
  • From the freezer: onion, chicken stock
  • From the pantry: butternut squash, salt, pepper, nutmeg 
  • From the fridge: butter, cheese slices, bread
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance: nothing
  • Need to buy: nothing

SUNDAY: Sloppy Joe Stuffed Baked Potatoes
  • From the freezer: ground beef
  • From the pantry: spices for sloppy joe seasoning, NSA tomato sauce
  • From the fridge: light sour cream
  • Need to harvest: green onions
  • Need to make in advance: sloppy joe seasoning
  • Need to buy: baking potatoes, Cheddar cheese

  1. Sounds like a yummy week. I was going to make my salsa sloppy joes this week but I think that I pushed it off until next week so that we could have a round of leftovers. The fridge was getting a little gross!! We cleaned out lots of containers so it was a great success before trash day tomorrow. Sadly, I never got the pie crust in the freezer and it was burried in the back and I didn't remember so it started to grow :( Better planning next time!!
