Grocery Shopping This Week



Wednesday is my main shopping day. My official 2016 weekly grocery budget is $100/wk for 4 people (2 adults, 2 teens) but I really aim to spend $50 or less.

Let's see how I did!

  • (1) loaf Everything French Bread (Walmart), on 50% clearance @ $0.50 but FREE with Swagbucks gift card and Savings Catcher gift card.
  • (1) loaf wheat bread (Walmart), @ $1.12 but FREE with Swagbucks gift card and Savings Catcher gift card and got $0.50 back from Ibotta so 0.50 MONEY MAKER.
  • (1) loaf white bread (Aldi) @ $0.85
  • (1) package Flax Oat Bran Whole Wheat pita bread (Walmart), on 50% clearance @ $1.37 but FREE with Swagbucks gift card and Savings Catcher gift card.

  • None needed.

  • (2) gallons whole milk (CVS), on sale @ $2.79 each = $5.58 but FREE with CVS gift card earned from Mastercard Rewards.

  • 1 round Smoked Gouda (Aldi) @ $2.99
  • 1 package Fit & Active string cheese (Aldi) @ $2.79
  • 1 package American cheese singles (Aldi) @ $1.89

Dry/Pantry/Freezer Goods: $6.75 OOP 
  • (1) 40-oz creamy peanut butter jar (Aldi) @ $2.99
  • (2) cans Fit & Active cream of mushroom soup (Aldi) @ $0.69 each = $1.38
  • (2) cans chunky soup (Aldi) @ $1.19 each = $2.38
Produce/Juice: $7.25
  • (1) hydroponic lettuce (Aldi) @ $1.39, minus $0.25 from Checkout 51 = $1.14
  • (2) cans mushrooms and stems (Walmart) @ $0.76 each = $1.52 but FREE with Swagbucks gift card and Savings Catcher gift card.
  • (2) 4-lb bags Navel oranges (Aldi), on sale @ $1.99 each = $3.98

  • 1 hot chorizo (Aldi), @ $1.99
  • 1 lb Land O Frost Black Forest Ham (Walmart) @ $4.34 but FREE with Swagbucks gift card and Savings Catcher gift card and got $1.00 back from Ibotta so $1.00 MONEY MAKER.

Snacks: $7.05 OOP, received $0.99 in ExtraCare Bucks and will get $1.00 back from SavingStar
  • 1 dozen donuts (Walmart), on 50% clearance @ $1.99 but FREE with Swagbucks gift card and Savings Catcher gift card.
  • 2 bags Macho Cheese chips (RaceTrac) @ $0.99 each but FREE with redemption of survey reward codes.
  • 2 packages peanut butter crackers (Aldi) @ $0.89 each = $1.78
  • 1 box Swiss rolls (Aldi) @ $1.29
  • 1 package protein bars (Aldi) $1.99
  • 1 package sour Skittles (CVS), on sale @ $1.00 but FREE with CVS gift card earned from Mastercard Rewards and got $0.99 in ExtraCare Bucks.
  • 1 package Twix (CVS),  on sale @ $1.00 but FREE with CVS gift card earned from Mastercard Rewards and got $0.99 in ExtraCare Bucks.
  • 1 York Peppermint Patty (CVS) @ $1.00 and will get $1.00 back from SavingStar
  • 1 Cadbury Caramel egg (CVS) @ $0.99 but FREE with CVS gift card earned from Mastercard Rewards and got $0.99 in ExtraCare Bucks.

    1. Well to be fair, this is far from being the only protein we will consume this week (and actually the chorizo was an impulse buy that I'll use it in a dish in an upcoming week). But this is why we stock up when we can find things cheaper than usual, right?

  3. Another great week with those swagbucks and other gift cards!! I love to see the shopping hauls but it reminded me that I didn't make it to the store this weekend to get lunchmeat for my husband. I remembered that there was something that I was supposed to get at Aldi's when I went to the doctor next door but couldn't figure out what it was there...and my husband didn't answer the phone or text. Of course, I looked at your picture and realized that it was the lunch meat!!! Oh well, great news is that we are all sick so he will be taking soup to work for a few days because that is all that he eats when he is sick :)
