Dinner Plans This Week: Monday 1/23 through Sunday 1/29, 2017

Each week I peek in my fridge, freezer, and garden, to see what needs to be used up and I take a couple of minutes to think of ways to use up those ingredients in the next few days...

It's Sunday night as I type this, realizing that I never drafted a menu plan for the coming week!  Monday's dinner will be what I had planned on cooking Sunday night, since we had soup and sandwiches due to all the worrying weather activity around us.

MONDAY:  Mushroom Pork Loin and Rice, Sauteed Zucchini with Naan bread
  • From the freezer: pork loin roast, naan bread
  • From the pantry: homemade onion soup mix, flour, white rice, EVOO
  • From the fridge: light mayo, minced garlic, white mushrooms, milk, zucchini
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance: cut the roast into cutlets
  • Need to buy: nothing

TUESDAY: Cheese Ravioli and Roasted Chicken with Spinach Side Salad
  • From the freezer: cheese ravioli
  • From the pantry: Ten Things Farm Seasoning
  • From the fridge: roaster, parmesan cheese, spinach, grape tomatoes, cucumber, dressings
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance: roast the chicken in the afternoon
  • Need to buy: nothing

WEDNESDAY: Brussels Sprouts with Bacon, Thyme and Raisins** and Grilled Chicken Chipotle Sausages
** This is a recipe from the Crockpot cookbook, I couldn't find it online.
  • From the freezer: chicken chipotle sausages
  • From the pantry:  raisins
  • From the fridge: Better than Bouillon, bacon, Brussels Sprouts
  • Need to harvest: thyme

  • Need to buy: nothing

THURSDAY:  Zucchini cakes and Balsamic Pork Scaloppini
  • From the freezer: pork chops
  • From the pantry: vegetable oil, balsamic vinegar, diced pimentos
  • From the fridge: zucchini, eggs, homemade bread crumbs
  • Need to harvest: nothing 
  • Need to make in advance: nothing
  • Need to buy: nothing

FRIDAY: Tuna Patties with White Rice, Spinach Mandarin Salad
  • From the freezer: nothing
  • From the pantry: tuna cans, vegetable oil, white rice, canned mandarins
  • From the fridge: homemade bread crumbs, shredded cheese, eggs, spinach, dressing 
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance: nothing
  • Need to buy: nothing

SATURDAY:  Best Crockpot Beef Stew and homemade rolls
  • From the freezer: whatever beef cuts I find at the bottom of my freezer, celery, tomato paste
  • From the pantry: can of peas, can of corn, Worcestershire sauce, potatoes, parsley and oregano, flour
  • From the fridge: onion, minced garlic, Better Than Bouillon Beef, carrots, 
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance:  **crockpot recipe**, bake bread rolls (bread machine)
  • Need to buy: nothing

SUNDAY:  Cheeseburgers & Mashed Potatoes and Canned Peas
  • From the freezer: ground beef
  • From the pantry:   Montreal Steak Seasoning, jar of gravy, can of peas
  • From the fridge: hamburger buns, cheese slices, condiments, butter
  • Need to harvest: nothing
  • Need to make in advance: nothing
  • Need to buy: nothing

  1. Yum! Everything on your menu sounds good! I still have to finish up some leftovers from last week and then, I'll think about something to cook!

    1. My plans for tonight have already been derailed since we're ordering Chinese take-out. I didn't feel like cooking and having to worry about the kittens' recovering from their anesthesia at the same time! I think that's a great excuse :)
